Years ago I was working for a structural engineering firm and this is one of the projects I worked on.
I have never stayed in a bed and breakfast and am not sure why. Circumstances found my wife and I in Warm Springs, Georgia. Warm Springs is known for Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s Little White House and the warm mineral springs he used to combat the effects of polio. We had not planned on coming here this weekend and did not have plans as of yet for a place to spend the night.
Arriving in downtown Warm Springs, we saw a three story brick building that said, “Hotel Warm Springs Established 1907.” We entered the lobby and went back about 100 years in time. The lobby had the original tile on the floor, 18 foot ceilings, a large grand staircase and the original check in counter with the original wooden cubby holes for keys and an old telephone switchboard.
